Archive for ‘Random Commercial Parody’
This series of strips is actually a remake of an earlier comic we did, back before people really knew what a webcomic was. We did a little research and discovered that the toothpaste known for ‘brushing when you’re not brushing’ is actually Colgate Total (but Crest has something comparable, from what we understand). And we further learned that the special ingredient that allows the toothpaste to brush when you’re not brushing is a widely used anti-bacterial called Triclosan, which winds up in our water supplies, where it photosynthesizes and breaks down into Dioxins!
Cool, huh?
Edit: Checking for Friday’s 1989 page? It’ll be posted toward the end of the day. Thank you!

Update: Hello Gentlereaders. There will not be a 1989 update this Friday, but there will be an update of sorts this weekend. Keep an eye out for it!
See you all Monday.
We found the original commercial on youtube.
It may not be the exact same commercial, but it’s definitely from the same campaign. Another problem: It’s in portuguese!
Here’s a short edit of the original commercial.
Update: 1989 will be up late Saturday afternoon.
Sincerely, the artist.
Update: 1989 should be up late today (at least technically speaking) for those of us in the Pacific time zone.
Update: Yes, it’s that time again! It’s Friday! Time to let you know that the strip will be up on Saturday.
But don’t fret, next week we will bring you a special treat. And no, it’s not a pony, or any other sort of guilt gift. Tune in Monday to find out.
