Posthuman Blues blogger Mac Tonnies has suddenly, and surprisingly, passed away. Even though we didn’t always agree with him, his fevered, multi-disciplinary approach to fringe topics was energizing, and I predict that his unfortunately early death will leave a gaping hole in the fields he participated in (forteana, UFOlogy, transhumanism, futurism, etc).
Summer art break! Which is to say, Newspaper Comic Strip resumes in one week, on Tuesday, July 12th.
In one of those bizarre, un-planned twists of fate, Canada’s “military mission” in Afghanistan ended today, even though close to a thousand troops will remain. All I know for sure is that there are going to be a lot of Canadian troops looking for civilian employment, and I wager that quite a few of them will wind up as police officers. I can’t wait!
