So dropping your munitions in the wrong place when you think no one is looking CAN in fact get you in trouble in America! I was starting to lose hope. Thanks, former CIA director Dave Petraeus. Speaking of bombs, I recently found fresh new signs in a local park.

Wow. Do you live outside CFB Gagetown?
No, sir. I’m in the North Okanagan in BC, where they shot off a lot of ammo training for WW2.
Fresh NEW signs? Were there other signs with the same information before, or is this completely new information?
The existence of WW2 era UXO is well known around the area, but it’s not always been clearly marked. As far as I can tell there wasn’t much in the way of signage until sometime this last year when these big new signs were installed, as well as a placard by the lake explaining a bit of the history of the area (in this case Kalamalka Park). There’s even a new book about Camp Vernon that has a foreword by Pierre Burton, who trained here. The camp currently serves cadet training.
