What I want to know is; what is he reacting to in that last panel? Hes facing away from the sign. And what is making that *blrp* noise?

The “blrp” sound is probably loud and he’s scared out of his mind. So he’s reacting to the sound.

I guess there’s no ‘kind of’ about it. I just found out that dressing up is a requirement. All I can say is the bar better be well stocked.
