I’ll be in Vancouver until mid next week, so there won’t be any updates for a while, and possibly not for a whole week.
While I understand this will leave many of you with a dearth of entertainment, I’ll be having a hoot watching Autechre play live. Or more correctly, listening to them play live.

Dosnt he realise that a medium cannot exist in its own continuity? It would be like… like the X-Men one day discovering THEIR comics, or turning on the TV to the shocking revelation of a TV show about them. His comic strip exists in our universe, not his.
Just because he has become somehow aware of his medium does not change this cosmic rule…I think if he really found himself, the space-time continuum would collapse.
(…either that or he really is just insane, and not in a comic strip at all)

Maybe he needs to look in a different newspaper?
And yeah. The space-time continuum would probably collapse.

wait till he finds out he’s not in a newspaper comic strip but an internet comic strip pretending to be a newspaper comic strip

He needs a shower…

Eruanna: The X-Men must exist in a pretty flimsy reality! You should check out The Invisibles. Now there’s a super hero comic that can take some ontological abuse.

Justin: Of course the reality of the X-Men is flimsy… it would have to be with the sheer volume of versions and alternate storylines concerning them. Their reality is constantly shifting, with alternate inner-continuity timelines. Their very existance is very much a shakey and ever changing state.
NCS guy, on the other hand, might very well not be in a comic strip at all, guys. As I have previously postulated, it COULD just be an internet comic strip about a person who went insane and THOUGHT they were in a newspaper comic strip.
Or, could he be in a newspaper comic strip that existed in his continuity and was transplated as an internet comic strip into ours?
Or, the more obvious option, as jmpln, he is most likely just as he appears. In an internet comic strip that is masquerading as a newspaper comic strip, and as such he will certainly not find himself in the papers.

that internet comic strip theory doesn’t hold up. hobble and poetry corner and others have appeared on this site too - and yet they’re in his newspaper.

Well, we could trot out the Many Worlds Interpretation, and stop worrying about any potentially perilous paradoxes, or Manichean matter-anti-matter annihilations.
And no matter what flavour of pickle NCS Guy is in, he’s still in a pickle.
But hey, I’m not the writer, I just work here!

Actually, I guess MWI wouldn’t help NCS guy avoid exploding, but uh… hey! My bus is about to leave. See you guys later this week.
