After a thorough examination of my records that are mostly mental notes I’ve made to myself over years and years of watching a lot of TV, this is the second time “starvin’ Marvin” has come up. First time was in a South Park episode, and now it’s in an LL Cool J song that most likely predates it. And “starvin’ Marvin” has to predate this Cool J song too, cause for Cool J to make a similie with a character he just invented for the sole purpose of making a simile with makes no sense. This means there is an orginal starvin’ Marvin somewhere… So who the hell was it? Maybe a garbage pail kid? … even if it was, that garbage pail kid could still be derivative of some earlier starvin’ Marvin.

There was a large kid in my junior high named Marvin. Due to his obesity some folks called him Starvin’ Marvin. No one seemed to think that was rude (not even the teachers).
