Re: today’s announcement: you guys need a little crash course in statistics. Traditionally, the statistical cutoff for significance is alpha = .05. Any alpha SMALLER than .05 shows that the difference is likely to be significant in all but 5 (or fewer) percent of cases.
Was the inconvenience for NCS going up late significant then? Well I’d estimate it at around alpha = .89 or so, seeing as it was here when I got up this morning. To know for sure, you’d have to survey your viewers and run a few ANOVAs…

How can something be less significant than zero? That would make it anti-significant. Something that is anti-significant would become significant, because hypothetically, even anti-significance would exert some sort of relevant, substantial measurable force on the universe around it.
